A coaching legend is advising the Lakers on their coaching search

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to hire a new head coach, and they will reportedly take their time in doing so in order to find the right one and make sure LeBron James is on board with that choice.

Reportedly, L.A. is getting some help and input from one of its coaching legends from back in the day.

Via Lakers Daily:

“According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers are leaning on coaching legend Phil Jackson to guide the search.

“This is very much a committee in L.A. putting together this coaching search,” Wojnarowski said on ESPN on Tuesday. “One person who is certainly significantly involved in this process is Phil Jackson. He’s got a voice in this. He did last time when they hired Frank Vogel.”

There seems to be nothing wrong with Jackson having a say in who the Lakers hire, and it actually could be a good thing.

He is considered by many to be the greatest coach in NBA history, and he was pretty good at identifying winning character traits in players.

Jackson knows what it takes to be a leader of men, as he was one himself in the 1990s and 2000s for two different franchises. That’s what the Lakers need in a new head coach – a leader of men who will be able to coach a great player who has a tremendous amount of power in LeBron James.
