After Manchester basked in glorious sunshine this week, the weather is taking a bit of a downward turn for the weekend. It looks like the heatwave won’t be making a comeback anytime soon.
There are no longer any thunderstorm warnings in place for Greater Manchester or other parts of the UK, yet the weather will be more unsettled this weekend. The region will hopefully avoid the worst of the rain, with heavy showers set to batter Northern Ireland on Saturday.
According to the Met Office, there will be an overcast start in Manchester on Saturday with mild temperatures, but they won’t be as hot as what we’ve experienced recently. A high of 19C is forecast for 2pm in the afternoon.

By 9pm the rain should have ceased and it is expected to remain dry overnight, with temperatures dropping to 12C at 3am. Sunday’s weather is set to be better with a much drier day.
Although it will be cloudy to begin with, temperatures will reach a high of 19C by the early afternoon. There could be a few showers but it should remain mostly dry. Sunday evening will be dry and mild.
We won’t see a return to the heatwave next week either with Monday to follow a similar pattern of a few showers with the sun unlikely to make an appearance. It’ll be a cooler start too with a high of 17C predicted by 4pm. Temperatures will increase slightly throughout the week but it will stay unsettled with occasional showers.
