A busy Swansea road will be subject to work for five evenings and nights. Swansea Council plans to resurface Penfilia Road between Manselton Hotel and Llangyfelach Road traffic lights. The works will begin on November 17, from 6pm.
Located in Brynhyfryd, the road is very busy with frequent traffic passing by throughout the day. It forms part of a bus route which is used regularly. Residents have been asked to move their cars off the carriageway whilst the works are being carried out, meaning those who do not have the benefit of driveways will have to park elsewhere away from the road.
The council has vowed that the works will be completed as soon as possible and have apologised for any inconvenience caused. Get Swansea stories straight to your inbox with our newsletter.

The night before the works were due to begin, the authority sent a letter to residents which read: "The authority proposes to carry out resurfacing works on Penfilia Road between Manselton Hotel and Llangyfelach Road traffic lights. We anticipate that these will commence on November 17. The improvements are expected to take approximately five working nights, from 6pm until 12am, weather permitting.
"The nature of the works will require vehicles to be parked off the carriageway during this period. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that the works will be completed as quickly as possible."
