A Bunch Of MAFS Contestants Are Reportedly Out Of Work After The Show & Ouchie Mama

Now that we’re sitting comfortably in season 12 of Married At First Sight (MAFS) I think it’s no secret how detrimental a bad portrayal on the reality show can be for the public image of the contestants. Over the years, we’ve seen a bunch of former MAFS contestants feel the implications of their time on the show in their employment.

Sadly, the 2025 brides and grooms have reportedly not been spared from this unfortunate fate.

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, a whole bunch of this year’s contestants are struggling to find work after signing on to a potential three-month stint on the show, including Tim Gromie, Adrian Araouzou, Ryan Donnelly and Jacqui Burfoot.

Following Tim’s less than favourable time on the show — where he completely rejected his bride Katie Johnstone — the primary school teacher has apparently struggled to find work.

Especially after he reportedly received complaints from parents at the schools he previously taught at for his actions on the reality show.

Despite being one of the most prominent characters out of this year’s contestants, controversial groom Ryan is apparently struggling to find work.

According to an insider speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Ryan left his project manager job to go on the show. After filming for the entire three months, he has struggled to land a similar gig. While that would be rough for most people, the source says that Ryan is now doing some casual jobs here and there while he follows his acting dreams.

The publication has also claimed that Adrian’s e-commerce business is suffering.

Before MAFS, Adrian was selling sports bags under the brand PAKD Sport. However, the social media pages for the brand appear to barely be active.

Adrian has also wiped a TikTok venture he had with food creator Jasmin Weston, known as Jasmin Eats. The pair had created a TikTok account together called Sweet Sundayz where they made delicious desserts each week. However, after a falling out, they closed the page down and no longer do content together.

Meanwhile, Jacqui has revealed to Sky News that her time on MAFS has left her “unable to work” as a lawyer.

She told the publication that she hasn’t worked in law since the season kicked off in January.

“I essentially left my job after I tried to go back to work because I was mentally distressed and couldn’t work,” she said.

“I’ve been unable to continue my career… I’ve been left to fend on my own, basically. I wasn’t medically capable of performing my duties because I was under so much mental distress and trauma. I guess I had post-traumatic stress disorder from the show, and I couldn’t function at work. I just couldn’t. My capacity to perform wasn’t there.”

Now that we’re just weeks away from the end of MAFS, hopefully the gang will be able to find some employment.

Or, at least, secure some brand deals on Instagram.
