A Bummed Out Josh Allen Trashed His Own Play After Bills’ Loss to Jets

After turning in perhaps the worst performance of his career in a Week 1 loss to the Jets, Josh Allen didn’t mince words in describing his own play.

Allen, whose lone flaw in recent years has been turnovers, had four giveaways in the game. His three interceptions slowed down the Bills offense to keep the Jets in the game despite losing Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter, and his fourth-quarter fumble gave the Jets a short field to take the lead.

The star quarterback looked despondent when addressing the media after the game, and was seemingly lost for words at one point as he admitted to letting his team down.

"I hurt our team tonight. I cost our team tonight,” Allen said. “This feels eerily similar to last year, and I hate that it's the same. I do.”

Allen threw 14 picks last season, which put him behind just Dak Prescott and Davis Mills for the worst mark in the league. And while some of that can be attributed to Allen’s gunslinging style of play, more night’s like Monday could keep the Bills from pushing for a Super Bowl.

The reaction to Allen’s comments was a mix of support and looming questions as to whether he can turn things around for a Buffalo team with huge expectations.

The Bills and Allen get a chance for redemption in Week 2 against the Raiders.
