Former Premier League striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes rival fans who criticised Liverpool’s trophy parade are “jealous”.
The Reds held a trophy parade throughout the city on Sunday to celebrate the achievements of both the men’s and women’s teams. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets throughout the city to congratulate the players from both sides.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, but narrowly missed out on the Premier League and lost in the Champions league final. Liverpool Women won the Championship title to secure promotion to the Women’s Super League.

Agbonlahor has responded to criticism from sections of rival fans at Liverpool holding a parade a day after losing a Champions League final. The former Aston Villa striker has labelled those critics as “jealous” of the Reds.
“I don’t see any problem with it,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider .
“They were on for a quadruple and won a double. Yes, people will try and play it down and say it’s just the domestic cups but they’ve still won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. There’s no harm in [it] at all.
“The Liverpool fans are celebrating those two trophies and how close they got in the league and how well they did in the Champions League.
“Just because they lost in those two, they did very well in those two competitions. Their fans aren’t going to hold that against them, they still want to celebrate that and I’ve got no problem with that at all.
“The clubs and their fans are showing a bit of jealousy and envy towards Liverpool.”
