A$AP Rocky's trial in Los Angeles continues as his defense team prepares to present their case on Friday. The hip-hop star and fashion icon is facing charges for allegedly firing a gun at a former friend on a Hollywood street in 2021. The defense plans to call rapper A$AP Twelvyy to testify, who was present during the incident and is expected to claim that Rocky fired a starter pistol that only shoots blanks, used as a security prop.

The trial has brought attention to the A$AP Mob, a group of young artists that originated in a New York high school nearly two decades ago. The defendant, the victim, and Twelvyy were all members of this collective. The prosecution's case heavily relies on the testimony of the alleged victim, A$AP Relli, who claims Rocky fired a real gun at him, resulting in only minor injuries.

If convicted on both felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, Rocky could face up to 24 years in prison. Despite the prosecution's offer of a reduced sentence in exchange for a guilty plea, Rocky chose to plead not guilty and proceed to trial. His partner, Rihanna, attended the courtroom session, showing support for him.

Rocky's influence extends beyond music, with his fashion sense garnering significant attention. He is set to co-host the prestigious Met Gala, highlighting his status as a fashion maven. His courtroom attire and overall style have become topics of discussion, even mentioned in court recordings.

The defense has introduced witnesses to challenge the prosecution's narrative, including an internet branding consultant who recorded conversations with Relli. While Relli claimed the recordings were fake, the prosecutor pointed out their consistency with his testimony. The trial continues to unfold as both sides present their arguments in this high-profile case.
