A 50-inch Fire TV is just $150 for October Prime Day, but you need an invite to shop it — here's how to get one

Amazon’s first ever Prime Big Deal Days—like an October Prime Day—is nearly here, and it’s poised to bring thousands upon thousands of exclusive discounts for Prime members. It starts at 3AM ET/12AM PT on Oct. 10 and goes all the way through the end of the day Oct. 11.

As is to be expected with major Amazon sales, there will be deals that are super limited in quantity and others limited in time, with Lighting Deals lasting only a few hours. A newer type for October’s event is the “invite-only” deal. (It’s similar to how Amazon handled giving out the chance to purchase a PlayStation 5.)

One of these Prime Big Deal Days specials is better than all the rest: Amazon’s 50-inch Fire TV Omni will be a gigantic 60% off at just $150. That’s a full $225 off the $376 price and an unheard-of discount on a 50-inch 4K TV.

Ahead, we’re sharing how to request an invite and some excellent deals you can take advantage of right now, but first, make sure you’re a Prime member. You can sign up for a free trial here if you aren't yet.

To request an invite to get this 50-inch Fire TV Omni for 60% off, head over to the product page, where you'll see it marked “Available by Invitation” above a button to “Request Invite.” Then all you have to do is keep your eyes on the inbox tied to your Amazon Account during Prime Big Deal Days for your chance to shop the TV for $150.

If you’re selected to get an invite, you’ll get an email with a unique link to purchase. Amazon notes that quantities are limited, and invites will be spread throughout the duration of the 48-hour shopping event. If you get one, you have the chance to score an excellent deal.

The 50-inch Fire TV Omni delivers a vibrant, crisp visual experience with support for key visual standards like HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Digital Plus. This TV can even upscale content to a closer to 4K resolution, so 720p or 1080p content will look great. You can also control the whole experience, from powering the TV to selecting content to stream, hands-free with Amazon Alexa.

You get the brains of a Fire TV Stick built-in as the Omni runs a Fire TV interface, meaning you can access streaming services out of the box without purchasing a separate device. You’ll score six months of MGM+ for free with the purchase of an Omni TV and any Fire TV device, too.

If you’re eager to get a new television but don’t want to wait and see if you can score this one for just $150 via the limited-quantity invite, we’re sharing a few more excellent early October Prime Day TV deals you can shop below.
