KOLKATA: The 9th Kolkata International Poultry Fair began at Science City.
Organised by West Bengal Poultry Federation in collaboration with the Animal Resource Development Department of the Bengal Government, the fair will continue till February 11.
Minister in charge of the animal resources development department Swapan Debnath inaugurated the fair in presence of Belur Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University controller of examinations Swami Kaleshananda.
Madan Mohan Maiti, general secretary of the West Bengal Poultry Federation, said, "In addition to 40,000 poultry farmers and representatives from various districts of Bengal, many poultry producers and representatives from different states and neighboring countries took part in it to learn about the latest innovations and developments in the poultry industry."
Neighboring countries Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Nigeria and Myanmar took part.
