As of Thursday, approximately 95,000 customers in the Los Angeles area are still without power, according to utility officials. Since the onset of the windstorm, crews have successfully restored power to around 200,000 customers, with restoration efforts ongoing.
Janisse Quiñones, CEO and chief engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, reported that 118 crews are working tirelessly to bring back power to affected areas. Restoration times are estimated to range from 24 to 48 hours. Additionally, mutual aid crews from Pacific Gas & Electric are set to arrive to provide further assistance.

Residents residing in or near regions impacted by recent fires may face prolonged outages due to various factors such as compromised equipment, limited access, or safety precautions. Quiñones emphasized that the department is prioritizing safety measures to mitigate risks.
In response to water supply challenges, the department has opened its water reservoirs to address potential issues. Quiñones highlighted the significance of the Hollywood reservoir during firefighting efforts against the Sunset Fire.
Furthermore, a boil water notice remains in effect for the Palisades area and is expected to continue for at least 48 hours, as per Quiñones' statement.
