The defense presented 911 recordings during the trial related to the shooting incident on a movie set. In the recordings, a woman, later identified as a script supervisor, called 911 to request an ambulance. She informed the dispatcher that there were 'two people shot on a movie set accidentally.' The dispatcher promptly connected her to first responders.

During the call, the woman reiterated that there had been an accidental shooting with a prop gun on the movie set and emphasized the need for immediate assistance. She mentioned that the incident occurred during a rehearsal when the gun went off unexpectedly.

Furthermore, the woman indicated that someone was supposed to check the gun and that person bore responsibility for what had transpired. This detail was highlighted by the defense attorney during the trial.

Following the playback of the audio, defense attorney Alex Spiro pointed out to the prosecution's first witness, Nicholas Lefleur, a Santa Fe Police Department officer who was among the first responders at the scene, that the woman on the call had mentioned the first assistant's role in checking the gun. Lefleur confirmed that he had heard this information in the recording.
