TV presenter Anneka Rice has recalled how she was recently mistaken for a mystery celebrity by builders. The 64-year-old Challenge Anneka host played a game of 'Guess Who?' with her social media followers in a hilarious story on Twitter. Based on questions she was asked by the builders, Anneka suggested a number of different celebrities who the builders thought she might be. In the first tweet of a thread, she began: "Meanwhile … I have workmen in the house who are excited to recognise me.
"But i’m pretty sure they think I’m Michaela Strachen. Going with it. Googling my back catalogue quickly. Fun to have a new ouevre…" Winterwatch's Michaela wasn't the only guess from Anneka, though.

In a second tweet, Anneka wrote: "Hang on … wait. One of them has just said their mum loved the show where I was hunting for treasure ….with a metal detector, finding gold. No mention of a helicopter. Who the hell am I!!" This prompted the presenter to joke that they thought she was Mackenzie Crook, who stars in BBC's The Detectorists alongside Toby Jones.
"S**t. They’ve just asked me to sign their t-shirts when they leave. I’ve got about half an hour ….," she continued before adding: "Oh God, just had the ‘weren’t you in gladiators’ question. That’s Ulrika in the mix …" She was referring to fellow presenter, Ulrika Jonsson, who hosted Gladiators from 1992-2000.
In a final guess, Anneka suggested: "I’m going for Mackenzie Crook. Final answer." There will, perhaps, never be a definitive answer and she concluded: "I buckled at the tea break. The men utterly baffled. I slunk away…."For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
