AnnaLynne McCord has been mocked by social media users for a bizarre poem in which she claims she would have liked to be Vladimir Putin's mother.
The 90210 actress, 34, shared the odd musings regarding Russia's president on Thursday and several Twitter users slammed her for being "self indulgent" at a time when Russia is attacking Ukraine.
Her poem started with an apology to the 69-year-old president for not being his mum.
She said: "If I was your mother, you would have been so loved, held in the arms of joyous light."
AnnaLynne spends the next few minutes discussing how Putin's life would have been different if he'd been embraced by her love.
Although AnnaLynne took aim at Putin's mum throughout, others have previously described her as a kind factory worker.
AnnaLynne went on to say how she would have been able to spare the world from warfare if she was his mother.
She continued: "If I was your mother, the world would have been warm. If I was your mother, if the world was cold, I'd have died to make you warm.
"I'd have died to protect you from the unjust; the violence; the terror; the uncertainty. I would have died to give you life."
Her words failed to win much support on social media with many calling her "ridiculous".
One user responded: "'Calm down. There's no need to torture people using cringe as a weapon."
American TV personality Meghan McCain also replied: "I'm not sure if this is meant to be a parody or truly everyone in Hollywood is just out of their minds.
"But thank you to this actress lady for making me smile for the first time in 24 hours. Nailed it girl, wars over."
However, it wasn't all negative towards the star's words. One user seemingly supported her and told people they simply didn't take them in correctly.
They said: "If you actually listen to her words rather than just making snap judgments, her point is that blind allegiance to a country and power is an ego’s attempt at a replacement for emotional needs that were not met. And she’s right."
On Thursday, several anti-war protests were held across Russia as its people showed they do not all stand with their leader.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson told ministers it is "a dark day in the history of our continent" following the invasion of Ukraine.
