Keeping up with trends and making the most of living spaces while staying within a budget is a challenge for even the most budget-savvy renovator.
More often than not it involves a waiting game, luck and the chance to capitalise on huge sales.
But MatressOnline have come up with nine current trends that can be replicated in a home on the cheap and there is no need to wait.
Like most trends these days they started on TikTok and between them they have racked up millions of views from people who are interested in interior design.
If you were to take on all of the projects it would cost around £95 but even just one will cost between £5.50 and £15.

Upgrade a corner with wood battens to make a new reading nook
Using just a little paint and a few pieces of wood, you can complete this project in around 30 minutes - you’ll also have plenty of wood left for other designs.
Glue the wood to your walls in whatever pattern you like and paint over to create an upgraded reading nook or corner.
This is estimated to cost around £13.
Hide unsightly cords without drilling into walls
Wall mounting a TV is a great way to make your room feel bigger.
The only problem is it leaves you with unsightly hanging wires or a big project where you have to cut holes in your walls, so why not keep your wires hidden with a cable wall cover?
This can cost around £8 or as little as £5.99 depending on how much you need.
You can also paint it the same as your wall to blend it in.
Build a plant wall
#plantwall has over 16.9 million views on TikTok - it’s a popular trend that seems to be sticking around.
They’re also easy to do and you can find hanging plant pots online that simply screw into the wall.
These are slightly more affordable if you’re looking for a cheaper option at £15.
The pots are also self-watering so when you fill them up, they will give your plant the water they need, when they need it, to avoid overwatering.
There is also the option of a large plant wall hanging that only cost around £8.50.
Add some privacy with window film
A window film is essentially a modern-day net curtain, offering privacy whilst still letting light into a room.
They come in a wide range of designs from plain sheets to patterns.
One of the prettiest is a rainbow design that lets the streaming light form a rainbow indoors.
They’re also really easy to put up making them a great, quick home hack that can cost around £8 depending on how big the window is.
Never lose your keys again with a DIY key shelf
All you need are a few hooks, a circle of wood, a small length of wood and a tester pot of paint (you could use whatever you have leftover from other projects or buy a small tester pot).
Just cut the wood to the right length, attach them together and give it a coat of paint or two to make this handy key shelf for £5.50.
Add some life into your kitchen with under cupboard lights
Under cupboard lighting in your kitchen looks great, but it’s costly and will need to be installed by a qualified electrician.
A popular idea on social media is to pick up some wireless LED lights for no-fuss installation and manage using a remote control.
They cost around £13.
If you have a smart home and would rather control your lights through Google or Alexa, an LED strip light is also available for just a few pounds more.
Give your feature wall an ombre update
By using a couple of tester pots for each different colour, you can give your feature wall a new look.
Just choose the colour you’d like, and add a few different shades to your wall going from dark to light - make sure you blend them in to make the most of the effect.
This will set you back around £10.
Create your own hanging shelves
Just use a wooden serving tray and some rope to recreate the look for about £12.50.
You can save time varnishing by getting a pre-prepared tray online and they're also a good size to give you plenty of room to display things.
Refresh your bathroom with painted cabinets
If your bathroom is looking a little worse for wear, a quick clean and a coat of paint to your cabinets can make them look as good as new - or even better - and can transform the look of your bathroom completely.
The painted tiles should cost as little as £10.
