9 Indianapolis Colts players on Wednesday Week 6 injury report

The Indianapolis Colts initial Week 6 Wednesday injury report included nine players, five of which did not practice.

Let’s start with the good news: returning to practice was Ryan Kelly (neck), Kenny Moore (hip), and Kwity Paye (quad). All three players have missed the last two games.

With Kelly being a full participant, one would think he’s on track to be available this coming Sunday against Tennessee.

Moore and Paye were both limited participants but trending in the right direction. We will learn more about their potential availability as the week goes on, but both are very much needed back in the mix with the cornerback and defensive end depth being tested and each unit struggling this past Sunday in Jacksonville.

Anthony Richardson (oblique) was a limited participant, which was the case for all three practices last week, but told James Boyd of The Athletic, that he’s feeling good.

As far as getting back on the field Sunday, that’ll be dependent upon Richardson being able to play his game without having to force anything. Being completely 100 percent is not a requirement he said.

On to the not so good news. Wide receivers Josh Downs and Michael Pittman were not at practice. Downs has a toe injury that he suffered against the Jaguars and Pittman a back injury. That is all the information we have right now.

Also out was Trey Sermon with a collarbone and Braden Smith with a knee injury, although Smith has missed Wednesday’s practice each of the last three weeks, but has been available on Thursday’s. We will see if that trend continues.

Lastly, Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was still out, but Shane Steichen did tell reporters that he is “hopeful” Taylor can get back on the practice field at some point this week.
