A further 9,533 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland — including 873 in Ayrshire.
Data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland show there are currently 2,128 patients with Covid in Scottish hospitals, which is up 78 from Friday.
There are currently 31 people being treated with the disease in ICUs across the nation.
No new deaths from the have been recorded within the last 24 hours, meaning the nation's Covid death toll remains at 11,126.
However, 13,563 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, March 13 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
Meanwhile, there are 168 patients with Covid in Ayrshire hospitals — up 18 from Friday. That's the highest number since 169 were in hospital on February 11, 2021.
Fewer than five people are being treated with the illness in the region's intensive care units.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Na h-Eileanan Siar has the highest rate in the country – at 2,981.1 as of Sunday, March 20.
East Ayrshire has the second-highest infection rate at 2,245.9 while North Ayrshire is third with 2,142.3.
In terms of Ayrshire's remaining local authority, South Ayrshire has a rate of 1,939.5.
Of the new cases reported in Ayrshire, 310 were in North Ayrshire, 288 were in East Ayrshire and 265 in South Ayrshire.
