An 85-year-old woman, Annette Rossilli, tragically lost her life in the Palisades Fire after she chose to stay in her home despite being advised to evacuate. Rossilli, who lived alone and received in-home care three days a week, was determined to remain with her beloved pets during the devastating fire.
Despite efforts from caregivers and neighbors to persuade her to leave, Rossilli's strong attachment to her dog, canary, parrots, and turtle led her to stay behind. Tragically, firefighters discovered her lifeless body in her car the following day.
Rossilli's passing adds to the growing death toll associated with the Los Angeles fires, with at least 11 fatalities reported so far. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that five deaths were linked to the Palisades Fire, while six were connected to the Eaton Fire.

Her tragic death has deeply impacted the community, with Luxe Homecare, the company providing her with care, expressing sorrow over the loss of a cherished client and friend. Rossilli's memory will be cherished by those who knew her, and her presence in the community will be greatly missed.
