An 84-year-old Irish woman was presented with an award for 36 years of participation in the VHI Women's Mini Marathon.
Betty Hand, from Blanchardstown, Dublin, received the award before embarking on her 37th mini marathon on Sunday.
The Dubliner suffered a stroke in 2016 and then a secondary stroke in May of this year placing her in Cappagh Hospital, Dublin, to rest.
Although the event was weeks away, the inspirational woman recovered in time to take part in the race.
