8 New TV Shows To Watch On Streaming This September 2024

Finally, we’ve made it to September. Although winter is officially over and the sun has made its long-awaited return to our days, sometimes I feel like there’s too much pressure to make the most of it. Sometimes, all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a blankie and my dog Hank to watch a gripping new TV series on a streaming service.

Thankfully, as we live in the age of mass media, there are a heap of new shows to keep you satisfied this month.

The Best New Shows Coming To Streaming Platforms In August 2024

1. Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos

I am a fairly recent fan of The Sopranos, but the moment I finished watching the acclaimed drama, I desperately craved more. Yes, there’s the prequel film The Many Saints Of Newark, but it just wasn’t enough to fill the void.

Thankfully, the show’s director and showrunner David Chase is taking us back to explore what it was like making The Sopranos. In a two-part documentary, Chase takes us through the casting process, behind-the-scenes facts and even the off-set troubles of lead actor James Gandolfini.

But the best bit? The interviews with Chase take place in Dr. Melfi’s office. Iconic.

You can watch Wise Guy: David Chase and the Sopranos on BINGE from September 8. And if you haven’t seen The Sopranos, you should go watch that too.

2. The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City, Season 5

The season four finale of The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City has gone down in history as one of the best episodes to ever exist within the Real Housewives franchise.

It had drama, it had receipts, it had yelling, it had me on the edge of my fucking seat. Judging by the trailer for season five, things are only going to get more juicy while the ladies clean all of the shit that has fallen from the fan.

Season five of The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City is available to stream on Hayu from September 19.

3. Emily In Paris, Season 4 Part 2

Last month, the first part of Emily In Paris season four hit Netflix. While personally, it scratched the itch I had for brightly coloured outfits, hot people and listening to gorgeous French accents, the first installation of the season wasn’t a big hit with all audiences. Some people claimed that not enough actually happened in the first five episodes.

While I disagree, I do think that the slightly slower start was just gearing up for the absolute drama about to occur in part two. After all, the trailer hints at a new romance, a new rival and an impending disaster — what’s not to love?

4. The Abercrombie Guys: The Dark Side of Cool

Abercrombie & Fitch is known as one of the most successful clothing franchises in America, thanks to the revamp by former CEO Mike Jeffries. While he was heralded for saving the brand, behind the scenes, Jeffries and his partner Matthew Smith exploited and abused young me who applied to model for the brand.

In the documentary which came out in 2023, the men who experienced this abuse bravely speak out and expose Jeffries and Smith for their traumatising conduct.

You can watch The Abercrombie Guys: The Dark Side of Cool on Stan from September 25.

5. Selling Sunset, Season 8

The glitziest real estate agents in the world are back for another season of the reality show Selling Sunset! And you know what that means? More fights!!! More outfits that make no sense!!!! More b-roll footage of beautiful properties shot in a saturation level last seen on my Instagram feed in 2016!!!!

This season brings back all of your favourite kooky characters and a few new ones who are sure to stir up some drama.

You can watch Selling Sunset season eight on Netflix from September 6.

6. A Very Royal Scandal

(Image: A Very Royal Scandal / Prime Video)

If you’re a fan of the monarchy, look away. If you’re intrigued by the royal’s place in a modern-day world, this mini-series might be one for you. A Very Royal Scandal examines the lead-up to the moment British journalist Emily Maitlis sat down for an interview with Prince Andrew following his allegations of sexual assault and connections to Jeffery Epstein.

Maitlis acts as an executive producer on the series, which stars Ruth Wilson as Maitlis and Michael Sheen as Prince Andrew.

There is a little bit of drama surrounding the creation of the series, but not in the way you’d expect. While A Very Royal Scandal is a Prime Video creation, Netflix is coming out with its own version of events called Scoop later this year which is said to focus more on Prince Andrew’s perspective, rather than Maitlis’.

You can watch A Very Royal Scandal on Prime Video from September 19.

7. Rostered On

Rostered On is an ode to anyone who has ever worked in retail. By that I mean, you genuinely happen to meet the strangest, most nonsensical people you could ever imagine during a simple eight-hour shift.

That’s basically the entire premise of Rostered On, an independent Aussie comedy which follows a group of employees at an electronic store called Electroworld as they try to go about their day. Trust me, with its uniquely Aussie sense of humour, this is one to watch.

You can watch Rostered On on PEDESTRIAN TELEVISION.

8. Agatha All Along

After Marvel’s television series WandaVision was such a hit, it’s no wonder that the good people at Disney have created a spin-off. Agatha All Along is set after the events in WandaVision. It follows villain Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) as she attempts to regain her powers by recruiting a group of unlikely allies.

You can watch Agatha All Along on Disney+ from September 18.

If nothing on this list is tickling your fancy, don’t worry! We’ve got a whole heap of other recommendations for you!

Happy watching everyone!!!
