Summertime is here, which means it is time to get outdoors. We wait all year for the frosty temperatures to go away, so we don't want to waste a single second of the warm weather. To help you have a summer you'll never forget, we've made a list of places you need to visit. Here is a list of cascading waterfalls near Calgary that are perfect for a spontaneous day trip.

Without using your entire tank of gas, you can reach so many stunning waterfalls that look out of a fantasy. The only question is, which one will you head to first?

If you are always the friend who bails on hiking trips because you can't stand all the bugs and dirt, then we have the waterfall for you.

Lundbreck Falls looks like a mini Niagara Falls, and you almost don't need to exit your car to see them. Attached to the parking lot is a viewing platform, only a few steps away.

With it being so easy to access, you have no excuse not to go. Chances are that you have to walk further to go to the bathroom at work.

But if you don't mind walking a bit further, you'll find tons of dreamy spots below that you'll want to discover too.

Sheep River Falls

Why You Need To Go: It might take you longer to figure out what to wear in the morning than to walk to Sheep River Falls. It is a super easy half-kilometre hike that brings you to a photo-worthy waterfall.

Takakkaw Falls

Why You Need To Go: Get ready to be spellbound by the towering Takakkaw Falls. It is one of the highest waterfalls in Canada.

Sunwapta Falls

Why You Need To Go: For the best photo, head here in the early summer when there is more water. You'll get to see both the upper and lower falls from the easily accessible from the trail.

Bow Glacier Falls

Why You Need To Go: Near Lake Louise, you can find this hidden gem along a moderately challenging hike. While the journey will take an entire afternoon, it is worth it to reach the gigantic Bow Glacier Falls.
