The country registered 22 more Covid-19 fatalities and 8,587 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
There were 8,456 local cases and 131 imported ones.
On Tuesday, 8,485 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,456,551 Covid-19 cases, including 233,116 cases this year, with 2,351,250 complete recoveries to date.
The death toll stood at 22,207 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 509 so far this year.
