The country registered 16 more Covid-19 fatalities and 8,008 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.
The latest 16 deaths were between the ages of 59 and 99 years.
There were 7,828 new cases detected in the general population, 14 among prison inmates and 166 imported cases.
Bangkok still had the most new cases at 1,298, and new clusters were reported at eateries, healthcare centres, schools, markets, factories and parlours.
The 166 imported cases included 84 from Russia, 10 from Denmark, eight from Kazakhstan and six each from Qatar, Germany and the United States.
On Sunday, 8,215 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,440,542 Covid-19 cases, including 217,107 cases this year, with 2,334,050 complete recoveries to date.
The death toll stood at 22,173 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 475 so far this year.
