Police in Midlothian recovered a sizeable amount of Class A and B drugs, as well as a large amount of cash during an operation on Thursday.

Officers seized the drugs and cash on Thursday, May 19, at a property on Woodburn Street, Dalkeith, after executing a search warrant.

Police Scotland confirmed that quantities of both cocaine and cannabis were found, with a combined estimated street value or around £7,000, as well as £5,000 in cash.

After the successful operation, Detective Inspector Laura White said: “Our enquiries following the execution of the warrant are ongoing.

“We are committed to disrupting the illicit supply of drugs in our communities and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.

“I would urge anyone who is aware of any information about the supply of drugs to report the matter to police on 101, or anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
