There were 15 more Covid-19 fatalities and 774 new patients admitted to hospitals on Monday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Tuesday.
This compared with 11 coronavirus-related fatalities and 242 patients on Sunday, as reported on Monday.
As of midnight Monday, a total of 8,189 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 8,349 the previous day), including 5,784 in hospitals (down from 5,953). Of the remainder, 63 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 65) and 2,337 in home/community isolation (up from 2,326).
Of those in hospitals, 618 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 650) and 313 dependent on ventilators (down from 328).
As of Tuesday, the daily averages over a 14-day period were -- 958 new patients, down from 1,665 as of Sept 7 figures; 618 seriously ill patients, down from 694; 313 dependent on ventilators, down from 362; and 15 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 25.
The 24-hour period also saw 919 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
All 774 new patients over the past 24 hours were local cases.
The 15 people who died were aged from 53 to 93 years.
Bangkok reported one more death and there were four in the adjacent provinces of Samut Prakan (3) and Nakhon Pathom (1).
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported six - in Lop Buri (2), Saraburi (2) and Prachuap Khiri Khan (2).
The North and the South reported no new coronavirus-related deaths.
The Northeast had four fatalities - in Mukdahan (2), Nakhon Ratchasima (1) and Nong Bua Lam Phu (1).
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,674,403 Covid-19 cases, including 2,450,968 this year, with 4,633,559 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,655 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,957 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 308,115 in 24 hours to 617.57 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 844 to 6.53 million.
The United States had the most cases at 97.55 million, up 19,891, and the most deaths at 1.08 million, up 90.
