76ers could come calling if Bulls decide to trade Zach LaVine

All signs are pointing toward the Chicago Bulls running it back next season. However, that could be a huge mistake.

Their roster isn’t good enough to win a title, and it may not even be good enough to guarantee a playoff spot. In turn, they might be better off hitting the reset button and trading their stars to ensure a brighter future in Chicago.

If they take that route, many teams could come calling. According to Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation, the Philadelphia 76ers would likely be one of the teams attempting to trade for Zach LaVine.

Schuster mentioned LaVine’s fit alongside MVP Joel Embiid as a primary reason the 76ers would attempt to make a deal; he also noted James Harden’s potential departure.

“Fans and analysts alike have seemingly always loved to list the 76ers as a possible landing spot for LaVine,” Schuster wrote. “The reason for that is likely his straightforward fit alongside a powerful big man in Joel Embiid. Not only could he provide the MVP with some secondary scoring assistance, but he’d give Philly a powerful perimeter scoring game to pair with Embiid’s interior dominance. It’s not hard to see a world where these two lead one of the more efficient and explosive offenses in the NBA.”

With how few draft assets the 76ers have to their name, Tyrese Maxey would have to headline a deal, and at that point, Philadelphia may not be interested anymore.

But at the very least, it would be a conversation worth having for both sides if the Bulls were to enter a rebuild.
