A 71-year-old man arrested in connection with the attempted murder of DCI Caldwell has been released after questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell remains in a critical condition after he was shot multiple times, in front of his son, at the Youth Sports complex on Killyclogher Road, Omagh on Wednesday, February 22.
Three men remain in custody after being arrested in connection with the attack, a 47-year-old man and two men aged 33 and 57 who were arrested earlier today.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 71-year-old man, arrested in connection with the investigation into the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team, on Wednesday 22nd February at the Killyclogher Road area of Omagh, has been released following questioning.
"A 47-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation remains in police custody at this time.
"Two men, one aged 33, and one aged 57, who were arrested earlier today, Wednesday 1st March, under the Terrorism Act, and taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning, also remain in police custody at this time.
"Detectives are also highlighting a reward of up to £20,000 from Crimestoppers, who are a charity and independent of the police. The reward is offered for information given directly to Crimestoppers that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for John’s attempted murder.
