Quarterback Deshaun Watson is not the only member of the Cleveland Browns dealing with a mysterious injury. How did it take eight days to report that one of the most important and the longest-tenured members of the Browns left the stadium on crutches? After the game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, guard Joel Bitonio evidently exited the stadium with some help, but nobody reported on it until Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot wrote about it on the Monday out of the bye week.
The All-Pro guard did not practice on Monday.
Buy Browns TicketsBitonio is not the only beat-up member of the Browns as they get set to take on the San Francisco 49ers — tight end David Njoku is still slow-playing his return from burns to his face and arms suffered in a fire pit accident. Center Ethan Pocic is also tagged as day-to-day. The good news for the Browns, however, is that defensive end Myles Garrett is already back to practice after leaving the game against the Ravens in a walking boot.
This has been a fiasco of a week as the Browns get set to take on an absolute buzzsaw in the 49ers on Sunday. There is still time to turn the week around, but this has been one eerie beginning to Week 6 in Cleveland.
