Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will have marked his starting line-up in pencil but unlikely be able to firm it up in pen until he finds out if Jota has made it.
Joe Hart, Josip Juranovic, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Greg Taylor, Reo Hatate, Matt O'Riley and Liel Abada appear cast-iron starters. And it's likely Kyogo edges out Giorgos Giakoumakis up top, while Moritz Jenz and Stephen Welsh battle it out to partner Carter-Vickers. But the major questions centre around two key positions and how you replace key men Callum McGregor and Jota?
The latter may make it but it still leaves the Australian with some thinking to do how to best take on Marco Rose's men and secure a signature Champions League night and turbo charge the Hoops' hopes of reaching the last 16. Celtic had their moments before Leipzig outgunned them in the second half last week.
Record Sport runs the rule over the big calls facing the Celtic boss ahead of kick-off.
Central midfield
Star midfield pair O'Riley and Hatate are stick-ons to start against the Germans but who will fill a McGregor-shaped hole in the heart of the team? There are multiple options, of course, and the names in the frame aren't necessarily a direct replacement for the skipper. James McCarthy still appears some way off earning starting minutes.
David Turnbull
A start for the Scotland international who has recovered from tonsilitis would likely leaving O'Riley playing atop the triangle in the Celtic midfield. The former Motherwell man has been a key contributor but has yet to regain his place as a bona fide starter since his injury which ruled him out for a sustained period during the second half of last season.
Aaron Mooy
Postecoglou's closer, Mooy has been a reliable face to see out the final stages of games. But, amid the multiple attacking threats posed by Leipzig, will the Australia international start on Tuesday night? He would be the likeliest option if a layer of pragmatism was needed.
Oliver Abildgaard
The Dane felt the pace away to Leipzig after replacing McGregor but looked assured in Saturday's cameo against St Johnstone. The 26-year-old adds a physical element but is that the remedy to Marco Rose's potion of speed on the break?
Sead Haskabanovic
The Montenegro international was excellent against the Saints on Saturday and there's a clamour for the 23-year-old to start again. His knack for taking the ball forward at pace appears a perfect fit for Champions League under the lights. However, he may be needed elsewhere...
Left wing
Jota on the wing? Well, it's set to be a late sweat to find out if that's the case.
Daizen Maeda
The Japanese forward appears to be suffering a crisis of confidence amid a host of shaky displays. His missed sitters against Madrid and Shakhtar haven't helped but his general play seems to be a hindrance rather than a help at present. However, his incredible work rate isn't in question.
James Forrest
The 31-year-old looked razor sharp off the bench but a starring role on his less favoured wing still appears a long shot. But don't be surprised if No.49 gets called from the bench to add a spark in the second half.
Sead Haskabanovic
That man again! Haksabanovic can play in multiple positions including on the left wing and he may be asked to do so tonight if Jota doesn't make it.
Jota
And back to the best case scenario, the star man himself passes a late fitness judgement call and takes his place in his favoured role.
