Man, 61, dies after being hit by a vehicle

A MAN has died after being hit by a vehicle in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the Forth Place area of Burntisland in Fife to a report of concern for a person who had been knocked down at around 9.20pm on Monday.

Police said a 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's family has been informed.

Police added that enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the man's death are ongoing.

Inspector James Henry of Fife Road Policing said: “Around 9.20pm on Monday, January 27, we received a report of a concern for a person struck by a vehicle in the Forth Place area of Burntisland.

“Emergency services attended, and a 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
