As things stand, it's currently still illegal to ride bought e-scooters on roads and cycle lanes in the city, private land only folks. Though since July 4 hired scooters have been allowed to ride on UK roads.

The industry is hopeful that the new regulations are somewhat of a first step and that private use may be allowed in the not-so-distant future.
