The 2023 NHL All-Star Game rosters have dropped, with at least one player per hockey team chosen for next month’s contest between the four divisional squads. Fans voted for two skaters and one goalie to add to each of those teams.
But that means some big names got left out, so it’s time for a look at some of the players who got snubbed, mostly according to fans on Twitter, who are always right (OK, fine, mostly right. Sometimes.).
Let’s run through some of those names as we get set for the NHL All-Star Game and Skills competition next month in Florida:
1
F Cole Caufield, Montreal Canadiens
He’s tied for 11th in the league with 26 goals. So, yeah, big snub here.
Cole Caufield will score 40+ goals this year, is about to sign the richest contract of his life, and will be a “star” on the Habs for a long time. He doesn’t need to get voted into a meaningless All-Star Game to confirm that, which is why I couldn’t care less that he got snubbed.

2
F Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Edmonton Oilers
A player with 54 points is NOT on the roster. WOW.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was snubbed. Of all the players in the Pacific Division, he is 4th in points only behind McDavid, Draisaitl and Karlsson. Is currently sitting in 13th in points. Nugent-Hopkins absolutely deserves to be in this year's all-star game

3
F Tim Stutzle, Ottawa Senators
Agreed. Think Stutzle had the edge but Caufield was close. Either way one of them got snubbed. And no explanation. Just throwing names out there.

Wow. Tim Stützle snubbed from the All-Star game. He deserved to be in. #GoSensGo #NHLAllStarVote

There clearly was never a real fan vote, both Stutzle and Caufield got snubbed. It was always going to be the players they picked.

4
F Brayden Point, Tampa Bay Lightning
With 27 goals and 49 points, the case is right there to be made.
Wow. Brayden point snubbed from the All-Star game. He deserved to be in. #GoBolts #lightning #NHLAllStarVote

D Rasmus Dahlin, Buffalo Sabres
How does the second-leading scorer among defensemen not make it?!
Necas and Dahlin snubbed this is so rigged

G Vitek Vanecek, New Jersey Devils
He’s a huge part of why the Devils are a surprise this season.
