6 moments in upcoming Arsenal documentary including fight and Aubameyang losing captaincy

Arsenal fans do not have to wait much longer to take a behind the scenes step into the north London club with Amazon’s All or Nothing documentary series not far away from being released.

Cameras followed the Gunners around throughout the 2021/22 season as they only just missed out on a return to the Champions League, rivals Tottenham Hotspur beating them to the punch.

Whilst the documentary will not be released to the public until August 4, supporters have been given their first glimpse of what they can expect to see with the latest trailer. Mirror Sport takes a comb through of the highlights and low points that could potentially feature:

Behind the scenes of signings

Going all the way back to this time last year, the Gunners were busy getting a number of new faces through the door at the Emirates Stadium. In all, six new signings were completed at a total outlay of approximately £150m.

One of those additions was Aaron Ramsdale, who was recruited following a protracted negotiation process with Sheffield United. He has since established himself as the club’s number one stopper.

An insight into his arrival features in the documentary though, with fans given a valuable look at how a transfer is conducted from first interest to eventual signing of the contracts.

Arteta’s dressing room rant

Whilst there was plenty of optimism at the start of the 2021/22 campaign, that did not last overly long with the Gunners enduring an absolutely rotten first few weeks of the campaign. Arsenal found themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table after the first few games.

In the meantime, there were a number of occasions where the Gunners found themselves in extremely patchy form - with Mikel Arteta coming under pressure. During a particular away game, the Spaniard was pictured bellowing at his squad “I’m upset!"

The documentary is surely set to go into more detail as to his complaints, with a few more explosive dressing room moments surely lined up.

Aubameyang stripped of captaincy

Whilst the Gunners endured inconsistent form on the pitch, there were also a number of other story lines away from it. One of those that captured the attention was the relationship between Arteta and then captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese forward saw the armband stripped from him due to a ‘disciplinary issue’ and then completed a resultant move to Spanish giants Barcelona. To this day, the specific reasons behind Arteta’s decision are yet to be known.

That looks likely to change with the release of the documentary. Arteta is shown explaining that Aubameyang has been stripped of the captaincy and that is a conversation that Arsenal fans will surely be looking out for.

London Colney bust-up

In a pressured environment like a Premier League football club, there is always likely to be disagreements and feathers ruffled. That certainly looks to have been the case at Arsenal last season.

Pictures released by Amazon show a number of the squad - namely Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli, Bernd Leno, Takehiro Tomiyasu and others involved in a brief skirmish. Head coach Arteta is attempting to separate the players.

It remains unclear over what caused the training ground scuffle but all is likely to be explained sooner rather than later.

Jurgen Klopp argument

Speaking of individuals squaring up to one another, Gunners boss Arteta also followed suit during the season. Following a rough challenge from Liverpool ’s Sadio Mane on Tomiyasu during a Premier League exchange between the two clubs, Arteta was left furious with Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp.

The disagreement continued for some time, with arms flailing and the Arsenal boss having to be held back by members of his coaching staff. Eventually, the situation was diffused, with both Klopp and Arteta being handed a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver.

The documentary will give supporters a closer look at what triggered Arteta’s anger towards his opposite number.

Nottingham Forest disaster

One of the low points of the campaign, record FA Cup winners Arsenal saw their latest campaign halted in embarrassing circumstances against Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Lewis Grabban’s goal proved to be enough for the hosts on the night that will be written into Arsenal folklore for all of the wrong reasons. The latest Amazon trailer showed Nuno Tavares’ reaction to his first-half substitution, as well as Lacazette’s fury in the dressing room.

More insight into the match and of course the fall out afterwards should be a fascinating watch.
