It’s time to head back into the world of coolers. No, not the ones that keep your drinks cold. We’re talking about the coolers that break up fights at seedy bars. The 1989 cult classic Road House, which starred the incredible Patrick Swayze, is getting a modern reboot of the same name.
Jake Gyllenhaal leads the new movie in a revival of Swayze’s bar bouncer role, paired with Billy Magnussen, Lukas Gage, Travis Van Winkle, Jessica Williams and UFC fighter Conor McGregor. Road House is scheduled to release exclusively on Prime Video on March 21.
The official poster for the movie dropped on Wednesday, paying homage to the original flick with a handful of fun Easter eggs.
Double Deuce glass
It’s small, but it’s there. The pint glass on the bar counter behind Gyllenhaal has the logo of the original Jasper, Missouri bar.
Be nice
The rules of the bar are very simple. There are only three of them…
3 simple rules
- Never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected.
- Take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it’s absolutely necessary.
- Be nice.
The combo three rules sign and the “Be Nice” neon sign reference one of the best moments in the original where Dalton lays down how things are going to operate at the Double Deuce under his command.

Monster truck
Don’t like the new guy in town? People not paying for your “protection?” Just run things over with your monster truck.
For a great Buick call
Are you a bar owner that finds some inappropriate writing on the wall of your dive bar? A simple edit and now you’ll have people calling for a Buick that certainly wasn’t available.
Cooler
What better way to represent the calm dominance of Swayze’s Dalton than with a literal cooler?
