6 best juicers that are worth every last drop

There’s nothing that beats a refreshing cup of fresh juice on a warm summer day. Whether it’s the classic orange juice that you can’t get enough of or if you love a mix of everything (we’re the latter…), the homemade version is just, well, better. That’s why investing in a high-quality benchtop juicer is key to creating the most deliciously smooth, refreshing and nutritious juices for the entire family to enjoy.

Or, you can add superfruits to the mix for an easy antioxidant or nutrient boost. Who knew healthy eating habits could be so easy?

So, whether you’re trying to get more of that five-plus-a-day into your diet easily or more efficiently, or you just love a refreshing cup of juice (or both), we’ve found the best juicers on the market that can help you with just that.

What is the best juicer to buy for home use?

When it comes to choosing a high-quality juicer for the home, it’s important to know the differences between the different options out there. There are two main types of juicers to choose from that are great for common household use: centrifugal juicers of cold press juicers – sometimes referred to as fast juicers and slow juicers, respectively.

Though when you think of anything ‘slow’, you may have some pre-conceived assumptions of its quality or make. However, at times it is preferred that juicers work ‘slower’ to extract all the nutrients from your fruits and vegetables.

Centrifugal juicers

Centrifugal juicers feature a fast-spinning blade that chops up your fruit and vegetables and is then put through a fine mesh filter to separate the juice from the pulp. Centrifugal juicers are known as fast juicers as you can make your favourite juices in a short amount of time. One thing to note with centrifugal juicers is that – due to the high speeds of the blades – some heat may be produced which may alter the quality of your juice. You may also find that you need more ingredients to yield the same amount of juice when compared to a cold press juicer – so that is something to keep in mind too.

Cold press juicers

Cold press juicers, on the other hand, work in a crushing/squeezing motion to extract juice from vegetables and fruits. Although, they can be known as slow juicers, they aren’t significantly slower than a centrifugal juicer. Cold press juicers generally come with a higher price tag due to the construction of the auger and machine. However, every last drop is squeezed from your fruits and vegetables, so in turn, you waste less produce (and save money) when making your next summer health drink.

Both types are great options for the home. Centrifugal juicers are known as the entry-level juicer, however, whichever type you opt for is ultimately up to your budget and personal preference.
