50 Cent to play at Newcastle Arena on his global 20 year anniversary tour

Rap star 50 Cent will be in Newcastle this autumn as part of a global tour to mark the 20-year anniversary of his debut album.

The Utilita Arena announced the news this Wednesday, saying it is 'super excited' to have the city date - on November 18 - included on The Final Lap Tour and tickets will go on sale this Friday. The evening will see the Emmy and Grammy award-winner perform dozens of his fan favourites and chart-topping hits as well as tracks which have not been performed live in decades.

And, in an added treat on the special night, he'll be joined by special guest - and pal - Busta Rhymes as well as fellow rapper and singer-songwriter Jeremih.

The tour will celebrate the two-decade milestone of 50 Cent's album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ which is described as game-changing and one of the fastest-selling albums in history. It propelled the music artist, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, to fame and he went on to sell more than 30m albums worldwide and become known also as an entrepreneur, actor, director and executive producer.

In addition, he has created one of the most influential deals in hip-hop with the sale of Vitaminwater and currently holds the record for the highest-rated premiere of a series on US network Starz with Power Book II: Ghost, said a spokesperson. Tickets for 50 Cent's November 18 date at Utilita Arena will go on sale on May 26 at 10am. See here.
