The New York Giants have the third-most difficult schedule in the NFL in 2023, facing teams with a collective .549 winning percentage last season.
There are plenty of tough games on the schedule this year. Here are the five toughest per our staff.
Week 10: at Dallas Cowboys
The Giants have not won in Dallas since 2016, are 1-11 overall over the last 12 meetings and are 4-16 overall against the Cowboys over their last 20 meetings.
There is no particular reason for this other than the Giants haven’t been very good over that period and the Cowboys have been competitors.
Week 16: at Philadelphia Eagles
We now know the game will be played on Christmas Day in the late TV window at 4:30 p.m. ET.
That does not bode well for the Giants, who are 3-16 (including playoffs) since 2014. Their last win against the Eagles on the road was in 2013 — a 15-7 win buoyed by five Josh Brown field goals against a Philly offense manned by backup quarterback Matt Barkley.
Week 6: at Buffalo Bills
The Giants’ coaching staff has a lot of familiarity with the Bills, naturally, with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen having intimate knowledge of their operation.
That still won’t make much of a difference if the Giants can’t slow down Josh Allen and keep the Bills’ pass rush out of their backfield.
Week 3: at San Francisco 49ers
Never an easy trip. The 49ers might not be going great guns on offense as their quarterback situation may still be unsettled, but their defense is always up to the task. The Giants must prepare for a smashmouth affair in Santa Clara as their toughness in the trenches will be tested.
Week 4: vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Giants got bested, 27-13 last year in Seattle and will face a deeper, more experienced Seahawks team this time around. The Giants are 1-5 over their last six versus Seattle, a team that had a monster draft last year and may have just had another one in April.
