5 things we spotted at Celtic training as Jota wait goes on and forgotten man takes centre stage

It's countdown to party time at Celtic Park.

The Premiership champions will sign off their season and collect the league trophy on an afternoon of celebration in Glasgow's east end on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou 's side face Motherwell in their final fixture of the season and there's sure to be a carnival atmosphere at Celtic Park.

But there may also be a few tears shed with club heroes Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton set to leave at the end of the season.

Here's 5 things we spotted as the title winners went through their final session at Lennoxtown on Friday.

Champions' summit

A pre-session summit kicked off proceedings after the Premiership title was delivered in midweek.

But no doubt the message from Postecoglou to his players was the need to put on one final show for the fans who turn out to watch their side collect the trophy after facing Motherwell on Saturday.

Celtic have been utterly imperious at home this term and the manager will have reiterated the need to finish the season with an unbeaten league record on their own patch.

End of an era

And what an era's it been for Tom Rogic as he took part in his final Celtic training session.

The fleet-footed Aussie will depart Celtic with a highlight reel up there with club's greats after a glittering nine years in Glasgow.

What's been so impressive about the 29-year-old's Parkhead career is he's as much substance as he is style - and he has that in abundance.

Rogic scored some of the most important and memorable goals in Celtic's modern history but will now join Nir Bitton, absent from Friday's group, in moving on to pastures new. Both will go with nothing but the very best of wishes from club and fans.

Jota keeps his focus

The man who Celtic fans are waiting on, it would cap a season to remember for the supporters if one of their new heroes commits to a permanent deal.

With the club willing to pay the £6million to make that happen, the decision will come down to Jota himself.

The Portuguese winger has been coy over his intentions but that came against the backdrop of trying to secure a title.

With the trophy now in the bag, could a resolution one way or the other be arriving in the near future?

Here to stay

On a personal level, it's been another frustrating campaign for James Forrest. Injuries, as they did last year, and the form of others has limited Celtic's one club man to just 16 Premiership appearances this season.

But he made his intentions clear by signing a contract extension that will keep him at Celtic Park until 2025, indicating he's very much up for the fight in regaining his place in the team.

As he approaches his 31st birthday in July, the prospect of Forrest spending his entire career at Parkhead is now a very real one.

He looked keen to impress at Lennoxtown and could perhaps be in line for a start against Motherwell.

What next for McCarthy?

He's become the forgotten man at Celtic Park but the Irish international midfielder was snapped in amongst the action on Friday.

But for how longer, you have to wonder?

McCarthy has fallen well out of the picture, managing less than 90 minutes of action since the turn of the year across all competitions.

The decision to hand the 31-year-old a four-year deal last summer is probably the only market misstep Celtic have made in the past year but it's created a scenario that's not ideal for club or player.

With further additions likely in the summer, it would take quite the turnaround for McCarthy to suddenly become part of Postecoglou's plans
