On Monday, 5-star 2024 tight end Landen Thomas flipped his commitment from Georgia to Florida State.
Thomas ranks as the nation’s No. 24 overall player and as the No. 1 ranked tight end. He attends Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia.
Thomas had been committed to UGA since July of last year. Georgia now has 11 players in its 2024 class, with 5-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV being the top ranked player agt No. 7 overall. Thomas Georgia’s second highest ranked player prior to his de-commitment.

Georgia should be fine at the position for the future, though losing a talent like Thomas still hurts. For 2023, Georgia’s set with Brock Bowers and Oscar Delp. There’s also true freshmen Lawson Luckie and Pearce Spurlin III, who both signed as 4-stars in the class of 2023.
All but Bowers will return after this coming season. Plus, Georgia picked up a commitment from 2025 5-star tight end Elyiss Williams last week, who ranks as the No. 1 tight end in the nation for his class.
