5 reasons why the World Cup has the worst trophy in sports

This, I admit, is not a new take for me.

It was 2018 — the last time the World Cup was played — that I declared that the trophy given to the winner of the epic once-every-four-years soccer tournament didn’t match how huge it was to win the whole thing.

Heck, I even went further: I gave FIFA some ideas on how to improve the thing!

But the organization ignored me, so here we are again: The World Cup trophy is the worst trophy in all of sports.

Not kidding here! It’s true! Let’s break down the reasons why this is the case:

1
It's not big enough

What is this, a trophy for ants? It needs to be at least three times bigger than this!

Seriously, though, an event like the World Cup deserves a trophy that’s more like the Stanley Cup or the Champions League trophy.

It’s call the World Cup. This thing? Not a cup.

3
You wouldn't know it's the biggest award in soccer

Why is that? Because that’s the Earth being held up, not a soccer ball.

4
It's kind of ugly

I’m not the only one who feels this way:

5
The names of winners are engraved on the bottom of it

This is true! So how are we supposed to know who won? By Googling? C’mon! The trophy needs to display those names for all the world to see!
