5 NFL cities we’d love to see host a Super Bowl, including Nashville

The 2026 Super Bowl reportedly is headed out to California.

USA Today reported that the San Francisco 49ers will be awarded Super Bowl 60 for its Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, making this another big game that’s headed out to the West Coast for the sun and clear air.

While states like California and Florida make a lot of sense for Super Bowls because of their reliable weather and things to do, we wish the NFL would embrace the possibility of snow or rain and give some other cities a chance.

We’ve looked at five great NFL cities that haven’t yet hosted a Super Bowl and listed them as possible options for Super Bowl 61 and beyond.

Nashville

As Nashville will soon have a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans, a Super Bowl feels like it won’t be too far behind.

How could it not? The city’s tourism scene has exploded in the last decade or so, and Nashville’s 2019 NFL Draft went over so well that NFL Network’s Rich Eisen says the city should host the event every three years.

While the new stadium won’t be ready until 2026, expect Nashville to be right at the front of the list for new cities to host the NFL’s biggest game.

With the bustling music scene, stellar food and friendly folks around every corner, Nashville would do a phenomenal job with a Super Bowl.

Philadelphia

The city of Philadelphia tried to secure Super Bowl 60 in time for America’s 250th birthday, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

Don’t count the city out to host a future game, however. Philadelphia has so much to offer traveling NFL fans, from all the history to the delicious food (philly cheesesteaks).

Plus, can you imagine the Eagles playing in Philadelphia for a Super Bowl and winning? Eagles fans would absolutely throw the best celebration of all time.

Sure, it might snow. Who cares? Let’s all put on our best winter coats and go watch a snowy Super Bowl in Philly.

Seattle

Seattle boosters have claimed as recently as 2019 that the city is big enough to host a Super Bowl.

While it can get a bit rainy in Washington, Seattle has plenty of cool things for NFL fans to see as they prep for the big game. Can you imagine how busy the first-ever Starbucks would be during Super Bowl weekend?

Imagine the zoom in on the Seattle Space Needle as a roaring crowd of NFL fans prepares to take in the Super Bowl at Lumen Field.

We all have rain jackets. Put one on just for good measure, and let’s watch the NFL’s biggest game in one of the coolest cities in the Pacific Northwest.

Boston

We’d love to ship up to Boston to take in a Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium, winter weather or not.

While the city has never hosted the big game before, it’s probably because of the whole “it might snow everywhere and be super cold” factor.

However, Boston, like Philadelphia, could offer so much in terms of historical significance and things for fans to do.

Would it be annoying if the New England Patriots landed a home Super Bowl? Sure, but it’d still be a great city to fly up to for the big game.

Kansas City

Kansas City is fresh off hosting the 2023 NFL Draft, and it’d be fascinating to see the city host a Super Bowl while Patrick Mahomes is still with the Chiefs.

While it might seem like the most unfair advantage in the world to give the NFL’s best player home-field advantage, Kansas City is a great town with one of the most eclectic barbecue scenes on the planet.

Let’s just not think about a homebound Mahomes Super Bowl and just imagine all that delicious food and cool views that Kansas City could offer as a host city.
