JAIPUR: City police on Tuesday arrested five members of two different gangs who robbed chains, bikes and burgled into houses in Vidhyadhar Nagar and Subash Chowk police station areas.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh said that he had constituted special teams to track down suspects involved in snatchings and other criminal activities, following which Vidhyadhar Nagar and Subash Chowk police stations busted two gangs and arrested five accused.
In the first case, Vidhyadhar Nagar police arrested Sumer alias Pintu Bawariya (33), and Murari Lal (24). The police recovered five gold chains, four mobile phones, and four bikes from the accused.
Deshmukh said that the accused held in Vidhyadhar Nagar were connected to notorious Vinod Bawariya and Vikram Bawariya gangs and staged as many as 20 criminal activities. In another case, the Subash Chowk police also busted another gang and arrested three accused, idenitfied as Vishal alias Nakchya (24), Sanju Das (23) and Mohammad Hussain (37).
Deshmukh said that the police seized one bike, one car and as many as 14 expensive mobile phones during the search operation.
Subash Chowk police said that the accused also burgled into empty houses. All the accused, as per the police, have extensive criminal records across multiple police stations in the city.
As per the Vidhyadhar Nagar police station, Sumer alias Pintu Bawariya has been involved in six criminal cases.
