5 Eagles with the most to prove against the Dolphins in preseason finale

The Eagles and Dolphins are set for kickoff from Miami Gardens, with both teams looking to enter the regular season positively.

Philadelphia will likely rest their starters and key reserves, setting up a scene for players on the roster bubble to control their destiny’s in this final audition in front of scouts and opposing coaches.

Most of the roster spots are locked up, but several key battles will be front and center for experts to dissect over the next three days.

With the roster cut down for Tuesday, August 30, here are five Eagles with the most to prove on Saturday night.

T.J. Edwards and Kyzir White are ahead of Dean on the depth chart and rightfully so after both had strong training camps.

Dean’s goal on Saturday is to be the best player on the field while shedding blocks better and identifying the run quicker.

With Josh Jobe likely out due to an injured elbow, Vincent Jr. gets to prove he can be the fifth outside cornerback on the roster.

Taylor was the lowest graded player on the roster against the Browns in preseason Week 2.

A starter at times in 2021, Taylor struggles to get off blocks and is losing ground to Kyzir White at the WILL Spot and could see Nakobe Dean start to cross-train at both positions.

The rookie wide receiver from Utah was a long shot before suffering a thumb injury, and he just hasn’t produced at the same rate over joint practices and a preseason game.

Covey had one catch against the Browns and one 22-yard kickoff return. The tiny wide receiver must prove he can consistently get open against NFL cornerbacks.

Carson Strong, QB

If Philadelphia is looking to redshirt Strong on the practice squad in 2022, the organization has done a fantastic job of dropping his value.

Strong has attempted one pass, logged two carries, and played less than a quarter of action in two preseason games against the Jets and the Browns.

Saturday night is about Strong showing Eagles brass that he can play with pace and push the ball downfield against solid opposition.
