We buy our own products and put them under the same testing methodology so that you can easily compare them. Unlike most websites, we do not get our products directly from the manufacturers, which means our units aren’t handpicked and actually represent what you would buy yourself. We spend a lot of time comparing the products side-by-side to validate our results and we keep them until they are discontinued so we can continually go back and make sure our reviews are always accurate.
Curved gaming monitors offer a more immersive gaming experience and are available in many shapes and sizes, but larger high-resolution screens are usually more popular. Like all monitors, curved gaming monitors vary greatly in performance, from basic 60 Hz budget monitors with little or no extra features to the more advanced 144 Hz gaming monitors with AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC VRR technology.
We’ve reviewed 61 monitors and below are our picks for the best curved gaming monitors available for purchase in 2019.
Samsung CHG70 – The best curved gaming monitor

Type: VA
Refresh Rate: 144 Hz
Variable Refresh Rate: FreeSync
Resolution: 2560×1440
The Samsung CHG70 is the best curved gaming monitor that we’ve tested so far. It has a decent picture quality and its 27’’ 1440p curved screen delivers an immersive gaming experience, displaying most of the details your game has to offer, be it from an Xbox One or from a PC.
Motion handling on the CHG70 is excellent, and the image remains crisp no matter if you’re playing a fast racing game or a more strategic one. The monitor has a flicker-free backlight and an extremely fast refresh rate. It supports FreeSync 2 with a very wide Variable Refresh Rate range that ensures a tear-free gaming session. The CHG will also please HDR enthusiasts, as it can display a wide color gamut and has a decent HDR brightness.
The CHG70 has cloudy blacks that lack uniformity, and this hurts dark room performance. Just like most VA panel monitors, the viewing angles are narrow, so it is not ideal for co-op gaming. Overall, though, it is an excellent monitor whose mild curve offers an immersive gaming experience.
Samsung C49HG90 – The best large curved gaming monitor

Type: VA
Refresh Rate: 144 Hz
Variable Refresh Rate: FreeSync
Resolution: 3840×1080
If you like the Samsung CHG70, but would prefer a much larger curved monitor, then check out the Samsung C49HG90. It has a massive 49’’ screen with a 3840×1080 resolution that surrounds your field of view, offering an extremely immersive gaming experience. The picture quality is decent, with deep blacks in a dark room and a very wide color gamut that allows it to display very vibrant HDR content.
Motion handling remains excellent, but not as good as on the CHG70, as the CHG90 uses PWM to dim the backlight. This creates some flicker which, however, isn’t noticeable by the vast majority of people. It has a fast 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support that ensure a clear image and tear-free gaming. The low input lag makes the monitor very responsive.
Unfortunately, just like most VA monitors, it lacks wide viewing angles, so the sides appear slightly darker. Overall, the monitor’s size and curve design immerse you in the field of action, offering an unparalleled gaming experience.
Dell Alienware AW3418DW – The best G-SYNC curved gaming monitor

Type: IPS
Refresh Rate: 100 Hz
Variable Refresh Rate: G-SYNC
Resolution: 3440×1440
If you prefer a curved gaming monitor with G-SYNC support, the Dell Alienware AW3418DW is the best one that we’ve tested so far. It has a mild curve to enhance your gaming experience and a high 3440×1440 resolution that will display your gaming theater in great detail. It has a decent overall picture quality with wide viewing angles that favor co-op gaming, but is more suitable for a dim room as it can’t get very bright.
It is very responsive, thanks to the low input lag, and the image looks crisp due to the fast pixel response time making it a good choice for those who enjoy fast action games. The monitor is flicker-free, and if you use the DisplayPort, you can overclock it to 120Hz and enjoy NVIDIA’s G-SYNC VRR support for tear-free gaming, provided you have an NVIDIA graphics card.
Unfortunately, the Alienware AW3418DW doesn’t look as good in a dark room and doesn’t support HDR. Overall, however, it is a very good monitor that delivers a great gaming experience.

Acer Predator Z35P – The best G-SYNC curved gaming monitor for dark room gaming

Type: VA
Refresh Rate: 100 Hz
Variable Refresh Rate: G-SYNC
Resolution: 3440×1440
If you like the Dell Alienware AW3418DW but prefer gaming in a dark room, then check out the Acer Predator Z35P. It is slightly larger but has the same 3440×1440 high resolution that, along with its mild curve, deliver a similarly good gaming performance. The Z35P has a decent picture quality and great deep blacks that look good in a dark room, better than the AW3418DW; unfortunately, this comes at a tradeoff to narrower viewing angles.
The Z35P is a flicker-free monitor that responds immediately to your actions due to the excellent low input lag and has excellent motion handling. The image looks crisp regardless of the speed of motion due to the fast pixel response time. It supports G-SYNC over a wide range of refresh rates to ensure a tear-free gaming experience provided that you connect it through DisplayPort to a compatible NVIDIA graphics card.
Unfortunately, the narrow viewing angles hurt co-op gaming and the lack of HDR support might disappoint the fans of HDR gaming. Overall, it is a good monitor that offers an immersive gaming experience.

LG 34UC79G-B – The best 1080p curved gaming monitor

Type: IPS
Refresh Rate: 144 Hz
Variable Refresh Rate: FreeSync
Resolution: 2560×1080
If the resolution is not your primary concern, and a 1080p curved gaming monitor will do the job, the LG 34UC79G-B is the best 1080p curved gaming monitor we’ve reviewed so far. It is a large 34’’ screen monitor that provides a 2560×1080 resolution, which many people find adequate for the games they play. It has a decent picture and wide viewing angles that favor co-op gaming sessions.
The 34UC79G-B is great for gaming on older PCs as it provides a very smooth gaming experience. It has excellent motion handling with a clear and crisp image, thanks to the fast response time and excellent 144 Hz refresh rate. It offers support for AMD FreeSync and has an excellent low input lag, even if your game is locked at 60 Hz.
Unfortunately, the LG 34UC79G-B is best suited for a dim room as it can’t overcome the glare of a bright room, nor can it display deep uniform blacks in a dark room due to the poor black uniformity. It is, however, a monitor that delivers a great gaming experience and will keep most people happy with its overall performance.
