4iiii partners with Apple to launch the world's first power meter integrated with Apple Find My technology

Details on the new Precision 3+ power meter with Apple Find My tech

4iiii is a Canadian company based in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, committed to helping riders reach their full potential with a variety of training tools, including the best power meters, heart rate monitors, and cycling trainers for both indoor and outdoor use. 4iiii strives to be the leading name in power-based cycling performance, and now the brand has just announced the integration of Apple technology and launch the world's first power meter with in-built Apple Find My tech, along with a new and innovative Apple Watch app.

4iiii's integration of Apple Find My technology directly into their Precision+ power meter platform will allow mountain bike riders, gravel bike adventure cyclists, and all riders to track their power meters stats (and the bike it's attached to) using their Apple devices.

In addition to Apple Find My, 4iiii also has unveiled the ‘Ride’ Apple Watch app, designed to offer cyclists another way to track and analyze performance. The Apple Watch app offers Bluetooth connectivity, enabling seamless integration with fitness sensors including non-drive side and dual power meters, and the heart rate monitors like 4iiii’s own Viiiiva and most third-party manufacturers. Cyclists can access workout views, live heart rate, power, speed, cadence and distance directly on their Apple Watch.

4iiii add that the ‘Ride’ app will also upload comprehensive ride statistics, including GPS routes, in Garmin FIT and Apple Fitness files. It is natively configured as part of the Apple Health Kit, allowing riders to track their activity, calories, and close those daily activity rings. The app will support auto sync to Strava, enabling automatic workout sharing and enhancing the social aspect of cycling. 4iiii says with the Ride Apple Watch app, there is no need for a conventional head unit as cyclists can rely on the Apple Watch to capture key information.

Along with the Apple Find My benefits, the Precision 3+ offers real-time Terrain Auto-Optimizing that has been specifically developed to give optimal performance and accuracy across any riding surface. 4iiii says that their power meter uses an accelerometer on smooth surfaces and will switch to a gyroscope when it detects rougher terrain, gravel or during high sprint efforts. Along with the claimed accuracy, the 4iiii Precision 3+ power meter also claims to deliver industry-leading battery life.

Pricing depends on products chosen, which range from $334 to $529 / £334 to £529 / €334 to €529, with factory install starting at $329 / £329 / €TBC. Users can also upgrade their current 4iiii units with Find My tech for $29 / £TBC / €TBC. The Precision 3+ Pro version will be available later in the year with pricing TBC.
