49ers WR Deebo Samuel praises Lamar Jackson ahead of Christmas matchup

Ahead of the highly anticipated showdown between the 11-3 Baltimore Ravens and the 11-3 San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day, 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel had nothing but praise for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson while speaking with Kay Adams on Up & Adams.

“That man is playing out of this world right now,” Samuel said. “Real talented. Strong arm … Lamar is a guy. He has everything that you look for … week in and week out he’s always doing something amazing.”

Jackson is currently in the running for the second MVP award of his career, only behind San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy on DraftKings Sportsbook.

While he does not have the gaudy touchdown numbers that you see from MVP candidates every season, Jackson’s value on the field for Baltimore is evident in every game, whether it be the incredible throws he makes from various arm angles that few other quarterbacks can, the absurd amount of time he can buy with his legs on passing plays to allow his receivers to get open, or his unparalleled rushing ability when he decides to take off on a given play.

The last meeting between these two teams was in 2019 during Jackson’s unanimous MVP campaign, in which the Ravens narrowly defeated the 49ers, 20-17. San Francisco went on to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs that season and this Monday’s game between the two teams with the best record in the NFL has been dubbed a potential preview of this year’s Super Bowl.
