There weren’t any surprises on the 49ers’ Week 18 injury report. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said cornerback Jason Verrett suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, but Verrett was on the practice squad and not required to show up on the status report for Sunday’s game.
No surprises is good news for San Francisco since they already had as many as seven players expected to miss the game, including running back Christian McCaffrey.
The 49ers have six players ruled out and four others listed as questionable. Two of the questionable players are wide receivers aiming to come off IR. In fact, the team could have as many as three WRs come off the injury report to play in Sunday’s game.
Here’s the full injury report:
Out
DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee)
S Ji’Ayir Brown (knee)
TE Ross Dwelley (ankle)
S Tashaun Gipson (quadricep)
RB Christian McCaffrey (calf)
CB Ambry Thomas (hand)
There weren’t any surprises here, which is a great sign for the 49ers. There’s some hope that all six will be ready to play in the team’s first playoff game.
Questionable
C Jon Feliciano (back)
WR Jauan Jennings (concussion)
Jennings has nearly cleared concussion protocol, but he has one more step to go per head coach Kyle Shanahan. He’ll need to clear that Saturday.
Questionable - IR
WR Danny Gray (shoulder)
WR Ray-Ray McCloud (rib)
Gray has had his practice window opened for two full weeks of practice now. McCloud had his opened Wednesday and is on track to be activated for Week 18.
