Ricky Pearsall is officially active for the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 draft was listed as questionable on the injury report, but the team activated him off the Non-Football Injury list on Saturday, paving the way for him to make his NFL debut less than two months after being shot through the chest during an attempted robbery.
It’s unclear exactly what Pearsall’s role will be since his practice time has been so limited. He dealt with hamstring and shoulder injuries in camp, and then had just four days of practice after having his 21-day practice window opened.
Pearsall may take on punt return duties, but with WR Jauan Jennings out we may see Pearsall on the field with the offense in some three and four WR sets.
Here is who won’t be active for the 49ers:
QB Joshua Dobbs (QB3)
WR Jauan Jennings (hip)
K Jake Moody (ankle)
CB Darrell Luter (pelvis)
TE Brayden Willis
LB Jalen Graham
OL Ben Bartch
Luter was listed as questionable on the injury report and will not suit up. He had a forced fumble on a kick return in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers and Chiefs kick off from Levi’s Stadium at 1:25pm Pacific Time.
