San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall made a remarkable appearance at practice just five days after being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery in central San Francisco. Pearsall, who was hit in the chest and hospitalized overnight, was released from the hospital and back at the team facility the following day.

Coach Kyle Shanahan expressed amazement at Pearsall's resilience, noting that the young player was able to walk around and engage in team activities despite the harrowing incident. Shanahan revealed that medical professionals had informed them that survival rates for such injuries were typically low, making Pearsall's recovery all the more remarkable.

The 49ers have placed Pearsall on the non-football injury list, which will keep him out of action for at least four weeks to allow for both physical and emotional recovery. Shanahan mentioned that Pearsall intends to begin his rehabilitation process after taking a week to recuperate.

The incident occurred when Pearsall was walking alone in the Union Square area and was targeted by a juvenile suspect with a gun. Fortunately, the bullet passed through his body without causing damage to any vital organs or nerves, sparing him from more severe consequences.

Teammates and coaches expressed relief and gratitude that Pearsall survived the ordeal, with All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner describing the situation as 'insane' and expressing happiness that Pearsall was back with the team.

Pearsall, who was drafted in the first round by the 49ers, has faced injury setbacks since joining the team, including hamstring and shoulder issues during training camp. Despite these challenges, Pearsall has shown resilience and determination in his journey back to the field.

Having begun his college career at Arizona State before transferring to Florida, Pearsall boasts an impressive collegiate record, accumulating significant yardage and touchdowns during his time with the Gators.

Despite the adversity he has faced, Pearsall's return to practice serves as a testament to his strength and determination, inspiring his teammates and coaches with his remarkable recovery.
