The Arizona Cardinals will host the San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium to close out the season but will not face quarterback Brock Purdy. He has been ruled out of the finale with an elbow injury he sustained Monday night against the Detroit Lions.
We now know who will start for the 49ers.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced Wednesday that it will be Josh Dobbs, who finished the game against the Lions.
Cardinals fans will remember Dobbs, as he started eight games for the Cardinals in 2023 while Kyler Murray recovered from his torn ACL.
His action in Week 17 were the only snaps he has had all season. He played five snaps, completed 3-of-4 passes for 35 yards and he rushed once for a seven-yard touchdown.
