49ers maintain division lead NFC West goes 3-1 in Week 4

The NFC West stood out in Week 4, with three of the four teams picking up wins. The only team not to win was the Arizona Cardinals, who lost to the division-leading San Francisco 49ers.

Here are the division standings entering Week 5:

1. San Francisco 49ers, 4-0 (2-0 NFC West)
2. Seattle Seahawks, 3-1 (0-1 NFC West)
3. Los Angeles Rams, 2-2 (1-1 NFC West)
4. Arizona Cardinals. 1-3 (0-1 NFC West)

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers methodically dismantled the Cardinals 35-16 at home. Christian McCaffrey scored four touchdowns and gained 177 yards from scrimmage. Brock Purdy had only one incompletion in 21 passing attempts, throwing for 283 yards and a touchdown pass. He rushed for a score.

Brandon Aiyuk had six receptions for 148 yards in the win.

They punted only once and only faced third down five times.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks dominated the New York Giants on Monday night, rolling to a 24-3 win.

They had 11 sacks as a team and rookie Devon Witherspoon returned an interception 97 yards for a touchdown. They forced three New York turnovers and held the Giants to 248 yards of offense.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams blew a 20-0 lead to the Indianapolis Colts but got a game-winning 22-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to rookie receiver Puka Nacua in overtime to win 29-23.

Kyren Williams had 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals were overwhelmed by the 49ers’ offensive talent in their 35-16 loss.

Offensively, though, they were adequate. Josh Dobbs had 265 yards and two touchdown passes. They rushed for 105 yards as a team, gained 362 total yards as a team and converted 53% of their third downs.

They had no answer on defense for Purdy, McCaffrey or Aiyuk.

Coming up in Week 5

• The 49ers play in prime time Sunday night at home against the 3-1 Dallas Cowboys.
• The Seahawks are on their bye week.
• The Rams will host the 4-0 Philadelphia Eagles.
• The Cardinals are at home to face the 1-3 Cincinnati Bengals
